They should be okay then. I must have just assumed the crap ones were from JK.:)

  2. You had me wondering for a bit. Had to check. But in any case the ones currently available , even the good ones aren’t as wide as they were when I first started buying them.

  3. Aftermarket rocker cover clips are a lot thinner than original. Less force pulling rocker cover to the head. Are yours genuine ? Try bending the ends in, it tightens the pull.

This! It should be a huge struggle to get the clips in place - even starting them onto the cover should be difficult. If they are not, bend the ends in a bit. I thread a bit of rag through the clip and pull on it which gets them most of the way then prise the last bit - no leaks here. :)

Before I knew the difference I had some nice shiny new ones, I could pull them on with my fingers lol

As you can see there is quite a difference in thickness.

  6. Likewise I got some new ones but they were pretty puny - the originals work fine.

On my T1 it was the other way round.. the original springs had thinned with age and the new ones were finger-snappin' brutal.

Paul Weeding got me a stack of good quality fatter cork gaskets when he hauled a joint order from the USA ..can't remember the name of them , but they were good .
I fitted my last one last year , so will have to see if he has any more , or like you suss out the best bet in the uk .
