You've never had a type-4 though have you?

 

Interestingly I did once fix supposedly leaking O rings and it turned out to be a weep on the head to cylinder joint. Next time the engine was out I torqued up the head and that fixed it.

 

Are you still of the same opinion about the rocker cover gaskets a year or so down the line?

 

I am, but I know many others have not had success with them.

 

It wasn’t an oil leak then?

 

That was why I enquired.

 

Deep. It looked like oil as I remember it but...

 

…. there isn’t any oil between the head and the cylinder.

 

Viton is better where heat is concerned imho.
