Pushrod guide fuel pump mount question

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Wheelhouse, May 20, 2014.

  1. Hi all

I have purchased a new pushrod guide/fuel pump mount and the external diameter of the tube is small so slops around quite abit in the second lower hole in the case.
I have done a supply search and they all seem the same, there does not appear to be any options.
The old one was tight to get out.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks

  2. Should be fine. It will be held in place by the fuel pump bolts. Mine had snapped and couldn't get bottom bit out so had to convert to electric pump.

  3. Yes be careful when you take old one out if they break its a right pain and make sure new rod is right length check dave n robs how too n correct length cant remember off top of my head , you may need banana spanner to get to back bolt too.

  4. Hi all

The old one is already out and broken. The new one is the same length but a thinner outer taper diameter. If it's ok to fit as then great. Why are the new ones thinner. I would have thought they would be the same, that was my concern.

    Thanks

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

Possibly a design response to the old ones getting stuck and breaking?
