Did Sting really hate Andy Summers?

  2. That's really odd. makes you wonder if those that are in the market to rob our vans are reading these threads and finding out where people are located. Some of us are in very some villages so wouldn't be difficult to find. Never safe 0)

  3. When we had a Member map, I deliberately pointed my entry away from my house. In fact, it was pointed at the town of Katwijk an Zee in Holland. :)

  6. I think we should all own great big dogs and put their kennel next to the buses space! The buggers would nick the dogs too no doubt! :(

Glad your ok Bob - and even if you do feel daft you would of felt even dafter had you not have done and something had happened ;)

  7. I find it difficult to have anything good to say about the police to be honest.
I grew up in a very rough area that they ignored.
My car got stolen, they didnt even remotely care.
Someone broke into my garage and stole a very expensive set of rare alloys, then texted me to say they had done it and posted pictures on facebook the day after of him using my wheels as a table in his flat (which I for one class as evidence)... Would they go round? Would they ****.
My £4000 mountain bike got stolen, they told me to stop calling and then sent me a letter stating they were doing nothing about it.
A large group of chavs attacked my special needs brother, didnt even bother coming round, even though I knew names.
People have attempted to car jack me twice, (failed miserably, but thats irrelevant..), police werent interested.

Yet my car that got no advisories on any MOT's, never broke down, never had an accident for all the years I owned it got pulled over at least weekly, for 'being unsafe' or 'too loud'... even though they got VOSA out several times who spent hours deciding there was nothing wrong with it before letting me on my way..
I ride my bmx with no brakes, they try an take it off me or try and give me a huge fine, even though I have been riding brakeless since i was 9 and know the rules of the road a lot better than most of the lycra clad ** about..
And I got stopped and searched for drugs regularly, even though I never had any. simply because I have piercings and look like a weirdo..

I'm not saying every coppers like that, as that would be a ridiculous and untrue statement, but bar last year when a cumbrian officer helped me push my van around on a pitch black bit of country lane when I broke down, so it could be towed in the other direction, all of the other experiences of the police service they have been 100% useless, very rude, and they have their priorities wrong. Always seeming to go for the easy target, that hasnt actually done anything, instead of doing anything about the actual crimes.

I am obviously not claiming that any of the cops/ex-cops on here are or were like that, as I of course dont know. I'm putting it how I've always experienced it. And always having had to take the important matters into my own hands has led me to have no faith in the police whatsoever.

And back on topic, I think you did 100% the right thing dude, you certainly didnt want them following you home!! Using someone elses drive was a bold move, that could have got interesting, but was a damn good call in my book :)

It's a pity your experiences were so poor, despite working with the Police on a good few occasions (I wrote code for their Learning Management system amongst other things) I too have had some negative experiences, but these were outweighed by the positive.

I look at alternatives - which is what the tactic of crippling all our state functions is aimed at by one government (so they can sell the idea of efficient private companies that they accidentally sit on the board of), which is then countered brilliantly by the other lots 'borrowing our way out of debt' tactic that makes for bloated inefficient dinosaurs (but sates 'working class' job idyl of jobs for all) - and those alternatives are the privatised companies.

Bare in mind that privatised companies always employ the best they can on decent wages to ensure we get value for money* and tip top professionals.

I'm looking forward to the day where technology will enable the public to make educated choices for themselves and communicate directly with the mechanisms that deliver it - and get rid of the government middle men.

    *this is irony.

  13. I was in no way stating that any of the current government ideas for changing it were any good Moons, because, quite frankly, everyone in government combined has the brain capacity of a used tea bag between them.. but it definitely needs to be changed in some way. I certainly dont know how to do it, aside from using basic logic, a concept that seems to have completely passed by anyone that has any real power to do anything about it. Was just saying that I personally think the current set up is crap..

I have only had bad experiences, so can only speak from that side. That said, I do appreciate that there are good ones about.

I work in the tobacco industry; don't worry, we're probably equally as despised as coppers!

  18. I'm impressed hat you managed to get into th Rozzer station. Most off ours is closed. Especially at night.

Latest crime stats show that there is rarely crime at night (and violent crime, burglaries etc are down).....

This one is the HQ for the Lake Illawarra Command as always open, the others are a guessing game as to whether there will be anyone there or not. Luckily the Inspector knows both Ms.T & I as he lives down the road from our old house.
