Pull out awning (fiamma)

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by kilmo, Mar 26, 2013.

  1. A few months back there was a thread about fiamma awnings, today I have fitted one to my van,
Fiamma do not make a bracket for the T2 but a purchased a pair for the T3 and with a lot of fettling got it to fit.

I went for the 3m F45 and it has a 2.5m max projection

Overall in very happy as we normally just use a pop up gazebo but this saves so much room in the van.

    well done
I looked into it a few years ago but could not find any suitable brackets
you can get brackets that mount on the van that the legs click into so it can be free from the floor

  4. How much was it kilmo dude?

Im not sayings its not worth it as ive had sold a kidney for some quick shade many times in my life
That is however far far far out of my price range so expect a para redkneck home made version later this year lol

Ive allready got a vision of an adapted over head projector screen canopy

Who was it mentioned the paravision the other night?

  12. £380 is well minty for a canopy. I went with a quality large canvas tarp and two telescopic tent poles. Looks very old school base camp. Just the ticket when you don't want to carry/pitch the awning.

  13. Made a little addition today
3 meters of 12v led strip from eBay
The awning has recesses within its arms to hide the wires.

  15. TWC - I wouldnt mind one of the bagged ones. Saw one on a viking once but it wasnt in use. it was attached where the van roof meets the canvas and therfore hidden when the roof was down. looked neat but ive not seen one erected in the flesh as it were. Do these fit on an awning rail? I have one of those ie the aluminium one that you slide an awning in from the end.

You got any pics of it on the van or in use?

  16. Owt like this?

  17. Yep Dicky. Pretty much that all over. How did you attach it to your van?

  18. I use a long pole and clamps normally but forgot em in the picture above and used my jump leads (used the croc clips as a clamp!!!

  19. Ingenious! Looks great!
