cheers i am going to use them :)

  7. been to the premises in gateshead which is in the back of a boating suppliers, there was nothing to see though and never anyone about. I wanted to see the fitted product but wasnt able to. When I needed a canvas, I decided to go with a heritage one and fitted it myself. Not heard anything bad about proud to pop but just decided against it in the end.

  9. sorry to be a stick in the mud but I should er on the side of caution. I wanted a canvas for my Aussie import. yes the website looks good but I threaded on or looked on volkszone and there were strange/ mixed reviews. ie long wait and basicly a non breathable top. don't get me wrong I not speaking personally they may be good.. but I went to Chesterfield Canvas supplies and they made 1 for me. they couldn't be more helpfully. try your local canvas fitter.they make canvas for boats, trucks, tent, wheelchairs etc. we fitted it ourselves and cost 90 quid. well worth doing your home work.

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

Wouldn't worry about breathable, the originals were thick PVC...

it aint nothing yet till its fitted ;) ;)

  16. Goretex would be a good modern alternative it weighs less than pvc and is breathable aswell
If original branded goretex is too expesive there are plenty of fabrics exactly the same but not allowed the goretex branded name

Get a quoute from a sail making company to fabricate one to your needs over the cost of buying an off the shelf one from a camper company you may be suprised

Myself im going for cotton canvas and waterproofing it with thompsons water seal
Im going to buy a roll of canvas and use my old top as a pattern hopefully my sewing machine will cope with it

someone on this site must be able to give me measurments between the canvass fixing bars on a dormobile roof length and width as mine is a different roof and i think it measures the same just a different vent 1 not 2

  20. I think silver may have a dormy roof
