My bay is off to the welders tomorrow to have the rear corner and N/S wheel arch panel done. But... its going to be a month or so before I can get it into the paint shop so.

what is the best way to protect the panels? Should I just rattle can them with primer and lacquer?

  2. Yes I believe normal primer by its self is porous so the lacquer would be a good idea, Bonda primer I think is an etch primer and not porous and you can paint it on with a brush and also paint over it
Its what was recommended in the restoration manual by Fletcher Gillett.

  3. I used zink spray and it worked

  4. Etch prime any bare metal, then light zinc spray :)

I use all the Bilt Hamber products. Electrox on any welds underneath the van, and etchweld on panels which will eventually get full paint treatment. Both are non porous.
