Propex heater group buy Feb 2012.

Discussion in 'Late Bay Parts Classifieds' started by Pete Nice, Feb 3, 2012.

  1. Back by popular demand, I am doing another group buy for Propex heaters.
It would be the full kit as supplied by Propex, JK or Bluebird.

Here are the details on the Propex site: http://www.propexheatsource.co.uk/air-heaters.php

You get from memory, a 2000 watt heater, thermostat, duct pipe, exhaust pipe, 2 air vents & wiring.

You will need a gas bottle, rubber pipe, copper pipe, regulator & fittings, you can T off if you have a cooker already.

They will be £390 including postage via courier.
Knock a tenner off if you want to collect it from home/workshop or a show.
I will collect the units myself from Propex.

They are the full kit, you will need a gas bottle & pipe to make it work.
A split charge/leisure battery is also a good idea too.

DUE TO OVERWHELMING NUMBERS NO MORE ORDERS CAN BE TAKEN!

All those already on the list are included in the group buy & will be receiving payment details shortly...

(I am away for a week on 25th Feb-3rd March so replies may be slow).

how much saving over cost? i'm deffo after one if it's a decent saving, how do we pay you?

  3. thats a good price i brought mine for 230 quid..... plus the 200 quid i won at dub freeze lol.
would be intresting to see where you put yours.. a thread comin on lol.

  4.
  5. do you know how much these extras come to, and where to get them from?

Just trying to get an overall cost?

Anyone had one fitted and how much was it?

    Cheers,

    Simon

  6. Would love to update my propex. Ive got an old X1 fitted - been in there for a long time and can be tempramental sometimes! Not sure I can spare the necessary just now!

  7. How the deal works, is you put your name down as a definite, I add you to the growing list, Once I have at least 20 names, I issue a cut of date to be added to the list.

Once that date comes, I will email or call everyone on the list & ask for payment via a direct bank transfer. There will be a short period of grace for people to pay, then once all the money is in, I will order the whole lot. I have been messed about with late payments before & someone did miss out.
When Propex give me a collection date, which could even be as early as the next day, I can go & collect them personally.
I will send them out by Citylink a few days later. You can save a tenner if you want to collect one too.

You will save £55 on the delivered price from JK. Bluebird customs offer free shipping. Their retail price is £439.50, so a saving of £50.

These heaters hold a very good resale value. Often an old unit will sell for quite good money on ebay, so it may not be so bad if you wanted to upgrade.

I am only doing this group buy as someone resurrected a thread on VZi from the one I did last summer. I have managed to secure a keen price, so is worth doing again.

I bought my gas pipe from Towbar & trailer in Farnborough. I have fitted my own heater, but not plumbed it in yet. I will do it soon, so can get a costing on that too.

  8. Its a worthy cause Pete, but can you clarify please - i'm guessing warranty/guarantee works the same way as if it was bought from a retail outlet? If I were to buy one from JK et al and it turned up faulty, JK would take it back and send me a replacement. What would the process be in that kind of situation, send back to you and you arrange the replacement? Dealing back directly with the manufacturer of something is usually fraught with problems and a long winded process of them wanting to 'repair' faulty goods or try and make out the fault is caused by the purchaser - especially when its not possible for the man on the street to buy these units directly from Propex

    thanks
    :)

  9. Propex have great customer service & can be dealt with directly making it much quicker to resolve.

The heaters will come with full warranty & support.

I know from previous experience they are very good. I have done a few group buys with them now, so they know who I am. They can confirm who I am & the heaters have come direct from them.

    There will be no issue.

If you do have any problems, I am here & willing to help resolve them.

  10. cheers. Put me down for one please
    :)

  11. Can you PM me your name, number & email address & I will add you too the spread sheet.

    Cheers.

  12. Definitely interested in the group buy deal but I'm slightly concerned about the time it may take to get 20 names. Ideally I'm looking to buy one at the start of March, in your experience do you think this is a realistic target to get 20 names by then? And if not would I be able to remove my name from the list?

Thanks, and sorry about all the questions.

    Jamie

  13. I have 6 names already. The deal is open to VZi, Early & late bay & SSVC.

It is achievable, I have done it a few times before.

If there are more than 20 on the list, then that allows for a drop out or two.

  14. Cool, put me down for one..

    Jamie

  15. Got 10 names on the list now...

  16. More names being added all the time. Shouldn't be long before an order goes in...

  17. PM sent I'll take one.

    Scott.

  18. OK, it looks like I have enough numbers, but think I will run short of time to get it all done & dusted before holiday. My contact at Propex is on holiday this week & I am away from Feb 25th to Mar 4th.

I will collect payments the week of March 5th & hope to collect the heaters at the end of that week, Friday 9th March or Monday 12th.

NEW CUT OFF DATE IS 23rd FEB. NO MORE ORDERS PLEASE.
