  5. Ill show this to my step daughters, 15 & 16. They think they should get money for doing nothing. They're good girls but not much grip on reality. Lol

  6. I know exactly how you feel, my daughters first day at work (saturday job) was last week. I dropped her off in the morning and even hung around for 10 minutes nervously waiting to see if everything was alright :)

It's something about Dad's and their daughters, my son who's a few years older was just expected to get on with it on his first day at work cause he's a bloke and that's what we do.

  8. Yay - my eldest is 18 and at college - has done charity work for about 4 years at weekends and now has a part time job and has realised how much freedom it gives her. She has always worked hard at school and college and spent extraordinary amounts of time on her studies but if shes going to get through Uni she will need to work. hopefully were getting the ethos in place and a balance between study work and leisure.

Good lesson to learn para, shes up and running now!!!!

  9. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

Up and running, well put Dicky. :)

One of mine started doing paper rounds when he was about 12 and found he could earn serious money by flying round like a nutter, he was still doing it when he was 18. Then cardboard box factory to pay for 6 months travelling and more cardboard boxes through Uni. He finished Uni with £3K to start his next travelling fund and after sweating for a year for Jamie Oliver he's been in travelling in India since August. It's great to see 'em work hard and get something out of it.

Nice one Para and also Big up Mrs Para who's a fantastic role model for her daughters.

  13. Mrs para is awesome in so many ways

Its hard being the only bloke in the household and with proper northern women around me im going to struggle to shine lol

I love my girls and i feel honoured to be surrounded by such good women

I hated the female species untill i met my mrs over 13 years ago
Actually weve been married 13 years this july
Not bad considering it was a marrige between a forces lad and a local dales girl

Its a hard thing for a bloke to accept hes not the important one anymore
However the more i accept that the freer i feel

i'm proud of my 5 year old as he spoke as a narrator in his school play today, not sure who was smiling the most him or me! I have bought him a lego JCB that he saw me looking at and asked if he could have it, its for 10-16 year old so we shall have a bonding session with it, though he's pretty good with putty together stuff, well done Mr para for being a good dad and making good children!! my 3 year old is (in her words) bonkits and agree, little boy is more thoughtful and considered in his approach ( like me) but then Tilly Bonkits has more scars than anyone else, which is a sign of things to come I think, I see her as an extreme sportswoman one day :)
