Problem aligning front door

  1. Hi folks,
I'm having some trouble aligning my door after replacing the bottom of the A pillar. It wasn't perfect before as the door is patched at bottom, but when aligning it now it is Ok at the bottom by the B pillar, but it's about 1cm out above the swage line

Tried to show this in the photos.
Any ideas which way I should try to move it. I thought that pulling it out from the hinges (A pillar) holes as far as it would go would help but hasn't. Bid odd the bottom bit lines up not too bad thought

There is no arch fitted at the moment and most of the seal is there

  2. You can see most of the door edge here

At the lower edge its not too bad

But up at the top its well out - what adjustments should I make?

  3. Looking at that I would say that the top hinge on the door wants to go in towards the piller as it looks like the top of the door is out more than the bottom hope this helps

  4. I'd agree....although moving the top hinge in might move the bottom out slightly.....so might have to move the bottom in slightly but the top in more and it should even out

if theres no more adujstment on the hinges then you might have to bend the door

It's not that bad, I didn't comment earlier because I thought it was a joke - you know - the top sticks out wich way should I adjust it? I was tempted to advise you to adjust the top out more.

or put your knee on the inside of the door approximately in line with the swage line and pull inwards - worked every time on a Mk1 Micra when scallywags broke into it by pulling the door open from the top - mind you, you might need a new knee cap or two....
