Well. Before i retired, in my last job my post was that of a IT trainer , but to be honest ive no idea what you've been on about for the last twenty minutes, Is it something to do with electrickery cause i dont understand that either, ? Also who has been "released" is it that scoundrel Geoffery Archer .
That's also true of a number of large organisations I've worked with. Quite a number of the senior management have ignored IT as it's beneath them, provided no guidance or support and then gone ballistic when it's years late and tens of millions over budget trying to achieve the targets set by them on the back of an envelope after a particularly heavy lunch. Yep, I'm cynical but the number of senior staff I've met who even had a vague inkling of project issues could be counted on one hand. It's an issue for their PA as they concentrate on the important work like increasing the share price so that they get a bigger bonus.
Mercifully, our lot were all (except for the CFO) ex-engineers, and the product pure tech. They were all handsomely paid, and I don’t begrudge them a cent. Make one good strategic decision a year, and you’ve earnt your keep. Brightest fellows I’ve ever met.
