Pride and Joy

  1. So after 5 months of looking for the 'right' one, I think I found it. I waited 3 months for this to be ready as it had a full windows out respray, new canvas, rubbers etc.
So here we go with a few pictures of MY NEW CAMPER :chewie: :chewie: :chewie: :chewie:

I reckon I've found myself a solid US van with good mechanics and decent body and paintwork. The interior is washed out/knackered but mostly there. Now I will be searching the Mech & Tech areas for tips on cleaning, re-laminating, upholstery etc..

I'll also be getting my old tools out so I can start to 'tinker' so do not be surprised if you see lots of daft questions start to appear :-[

Hope you liked the pics. Thanks to all of you who have helped to get me to this point, even though you may never have known you were helping ! There is a lot of information on here and it certainly helped me when I was looking.

    Hopefully see you soon.

  6. Very smart looking bus there mate, Chuffed for you

  7. Lovely looking bus, and in good nick from the pics. Judging by the interior upholstery colour scheme it looks like original gear. Are all the unit still original too?

Nice one by the way, bet you're stoked :D

  8. Love it. Very clean looking. Well done on the drive home.

  9. Gotta love a Westy :D

Mine used to look very similar only in yellow.

Berlin is a very practical interior.

  10. Cheers All.
Special thanks to Lord Congi and MorkC68 for their input a little while back. It really helped.

Yes the units are all original but the laminate has had it. So have the front seats.

good news, if you saw how mine looked when i got it, you'll see it's all doable! yours is in better nick than mine was - my laminate was off a lot although not missing - i clamped and re glued it and it's lasted well.

  17. You have a very smart bus there mate, the exterior looks well clean & tidy.
I agree with the other comments about keeping the original interior, but then I'm biased being a fellow westy owner ;D
