Interesting, I like the idea of using hardwood pallet timber for the top.
Names, don't think I've ever named any of our furniture ...... it has been called names if I've tripped over it having been over served in pubs

This week as seen some progress on tritabletops resto also some information re the po and og condition has been gleamed from my next door neighbours Jack and Jan.

It appears tritabletops is not a 1950's model but the later 60's version. It was purchased new in around 1969 from a local make, Jack my next door neighbour remembers this quite well and waxed lyrically about sitting around it on chairs that matched on summer evenings supping beer and putting the world to right on our patio with the previous owner of our house, he did say the chairs were of poor construction and were scrapped a couple of years later.

It was initially a tintop but the tine rotted and was taken off and chucked the frame was was kept for a future restoration!

It was dumped in the coal hole and later moved to the shed at the bottom of the garden.

Anyway some pictures of the work done this week.

the bottom one is how the legs were , now cleaned back with 100 grade and primered with red oxide

    The centre brace tidied up

The stance is getting better but i ran out of primer halfway through the job

    The tools and workspace

It is slow progress and i belive it may be difficult to locate parts for this resto as it was a local custom build. But i will carry on with it as and when time and funds allow

That would be ideal as we now think a light blue and white wooden pallet slats top will be nice so that does the job, how many have you got?;)

i haven't seen any in ages if i am serious for a mo!

  9. Lol wish I'd got some, I haven't seen any either for a while but just looked and there's a couple up here in notts on eBay 99p no bids ;-)
