Hi Guys I have a aussie roof (i think its called the sopru conversion) and i need the material replaced- does anyone know where i can get it done as local as possible to hertfordshire? Thanks
Thanks I saw that thread, I called Delilah's and they said they did that for a friend and they won't do another one.
would it be worth you calling g'day kombi's in Oxfordshire (they deal in Aussie buses) & see if they know anyone? http://www.gdaykombis.co.uk/
Ah right. I guessed it was as there's a thread recommending you contact them for replacement Aussie roof canvases at a reasonable rate! Fairly easy to be mistaken.
Just called G'day Kombies - spoke with a nice chap, however they can't do anything until after easter. he did say its around 750+vat - which is slightly more than concept poptops who want around 500. The chap i spoke with did say they get their material from Seymour Marines (i'm not sure on the spelling of seymour) and that you need 5 meters which costs around £130. I've googled Seymour but bot coming up with much yet.
Think i have found that marine company - http://www.seamoormarine.co.uk Think the material to get is Seamoor Marine Tempotest
Any marine supplier will sell you quality canvas. Maybe remove your old one and use it as a template and do it yourself?
Thats excactly what i'm going to do I've found two companies that can sell me the material - www.sparksmarinetrimmers-chilton.co.uk & www.kendale-blinds-and-curtains.co.uk Kendal have quoted me £29 per meter and you need 5 meters according to K'day
I just ordered interior headlining and pop top covering vinyl from here http://www.martrim.co.uk/index.html
Went to see sparks marine yesterday and all booked in for mid April. The quoted approx 400+ blood so that's pretty good and they are fairly local. Nice bunch too
So today was the day, perfect weather, turned up at 8am worked for around 4 hrs and then left, here is a picture almost done... The guys were lovely and friendly and they were by far the cheapest around, even though they don't really do pop tops. I would fully recommend them and he was actually quite a bit less than they quoted, due to me giving a helping hand. Asked me if I wanted windows and how many, I said not to worry about it, but he said it was no bother at all and won't change the price, I went for a front window.
I decided to take out the roof lining and will replace with some dark foam, that should help to insulate and keep the light out
