That with a detachable bellows would avoid stuff taking space in the bus. I would by slightly concerned driving over hump backed bridges in case it bent in the middle though.
Yeah that's almost exactly what I had in mind was thinking the 'ragtop' would sit on the raised section of the tin roof with an overhang of about three inches either side for aesthetics. The centre where it sits over the cutout would incorporate a reinforced frame which would allow the attachment of the lift mech and the seal would sit around the opening and butt against the roof when shut. The 'ragtop' would be covered in vinyl and would incorporate a seal around the edges..... All theoretical at this point obvs, but I'm working on some drawings and I'm planning to approach a moulder once I have something to work with and I've got it registered on ACID
