Poor running

  1. Got camper out of storage fillef up with new fuel and have since done a few jobs, replaced fuel hoses, checked valves, new leads, removed and cleaned dizzy and fitted temporary an exhaust as old empi thing was beyond repair.
Mondo didnt fit right so welded spacer and fitted 2 gaskets, had carb off to replace hose so hopefully not air leak, replaced vac advance to both carbs (I know its not got a loop ) as only did one before. Problem is with so many variants engine has no pull so thinking exhaust leak so have ordered JK stainless box/gasket. Found fuel regular had been knocked to less than 1 psi so reset (reminder to myself to order malpassi). Camper ran Ok/fine apart from back firing with a hole in exhaust and hadnt been used much so had old petrol. Am I missing something obvious !!

Low fuel pressure will make it lean out .

The exhaust has less effect than other things. Backfiring in the exhaust tends to point at lean running as well as holes

Basically tune up from the beginning.
    You touched stuff.

Do timing, balance carbs, set idle mixture, idle speed once you reset fuel pressure, check tappets.

Also check the hand brake actually has not rusted on over winter...
