Plumbing Question

  1. Hi , calling on you plumbers out there , I have got some Fernox cleaner F3 that I want to use to flush my heating system with , I am moving a radiator , so thought it a good time to flush the system out , reading the instructions and a bit of research it all seems straight forward, except on the bottle it says not for use in single feed indirect, I’m not sure what I have , I’ve got a mega flow system with a gas boiler , so not sure if I should use the cleaner or not
    Thanks in advance

  2. That’s fine. A single feed indirect cylinder is a very old system called a primatic cylinder. Which relied on an air gap to separate the dhw and ch water. If you lost the air gap then you could end up bathing in the chemicals.
Yours is a fully pumped indirect system so absolutely fine.

  3. Thanks @rustbucket , I believe we have an air bubble in the mega flow as we sometimes have to reset the air bubble as the water sometimes comes out of the overflow, I assume this is different to the air bubble in the primatic system you mention?
