Plug troubles

  1. Changing the plugs the other day found one of the plugs had worked loose and had been wobbling in the hole and worn the top part of the thread could not put new plug in as it was cross threading,
Only one thing for it dropped engine to get better look took off the tin it looked grim, so decided to take off head and run a plug up from the other side but angle of hole made it impossible, so with my trusty hacksaw I cut a plug up and ran it from the reverse side till it got to the dodgy part sprayed a little oil in plug hole and kept winding back and forward till it went all the way through,
Fingers crossed I tried a new plug and hey presto it worked plug went in a treat, now putting engine back together,

  4. Excellent work there bud. Beats the cost of a helicoil. Thanks for passing that on. If you've got a comp guage that you scrwe in give it a go to be doubley sure.
One of my motor tech tutors used to say if you're in the desert and so and so happened how would you fix it? Makes you think out the box.
Its great to see someone doing that.

  6. Usually when I do any work on mine I find three four or five other jobs that need doing - you are so lucky to have found only one other!:):)

I hate it when that happens. You get halfway to work in the morning and suddenly realise "Damn, I've left my fingers behind".
