now bear with me on this please, because at first it may sound a little odd.. theres a '72 crossover bay thats coming up for sale in devon soon, under extremely unhappy circumstances, and my aim is to buy it, and my mums also going to try and buy it if i cant, but if disaster strikes and it transpires neither of us can get it, it has to go to someone who will appreciate it and give it the love it deserves! this might sound stupid to some of you, but my entire childhood has revolved around this van, ive grown up sleeping in it, hanging out in it, actually living in it for a while in my teens when id had issues with the parents, you know the kind of thing. the current owner is a very dear friend to me, she learnt to drive in it, vowed she'd never drive anything else, and honestly never has. shes had it since 1986, and it has always had everything it needed, even if she didnt eat for a week! and she rang me in tears today saying she had to sell it, and its going to be awful for her, her bus is all shes got. so we want to buy it so she can not go under, but it can still be in her life so to speak. maybe some of you will understand the mentality here, being fellow dubbers... im not entirely sure of what the point of this was anymore, but anyway, if i cant buy it, i will post it up on here and just beg of you lovely people to keep your eyes open and help with it not to go to a bumbling fool which would leave it to rot and then scrap it.. sorry for the random rambling, but im just upset by the thought of it not being in my life anymore, as i honestly cant remember any time that it wasnt. well erm, yeah.. thanks for reading this anyways...
if this girl wants you to have it so much she'll sell it you for what you can initially raise (with your mom too if needs be?) if you can't raise enough straight away and she can't wait for installment 2 then it's not meant to be, sentimentality is an expensive game so think what you're doing. Good luck.
Dont assume everyone on here will love and cherish the bus. There are a few who contribute who are buy and sell on at a profit types. Thats fair enough tbh and they do contribute but not all are as attached to their busses as you might think.
if you she needs money and want's to keep the bus in her circle - then ask her to sell it to you at what you can afford - good luck !
cheers guys, she said shes going to wait till ive got the cash for it and, with if the other cars ive put up for sale go (even for less than ive put them up for), then i wont have to sell my current bus either, todays worked out pretty well on that front, hopefully it stays that way!
