They seem more obsessed with denying metric exists .
That crank journal should be 2.3622" (60.00mm).
I wonder if they think they are being more accurate - 4 decimal places. lol

Supplying imperial fixings in place of metric ones on a metric vehicle is just bloody minded stubbornness though. lol

Forewarned though, I'll be sure I have some M8 Lockuts. I don't have imperial spanners. What jerk behaviour.

  3. Generally, Yank machinists and the like are well aware of metric (the US car industry's been metric since the 90s). Just some don't seem to be able to get their heads round it. Not as if metric fasters are a rarity in the US.

    No, it's just a few stubborn red-necks I expect. :)

One of my good red neck engineering type of mates is very much like that and is Whitworth this and Whitworth that and the only real thread etc etc. There’s also no such thing in his vernacular that remotely sounds like shock absorber, it’s road spring damper or he’s not listening to you . Mention tracking,, what dya mean tracking? I think you mean wheel alignment ,, that always a good one to wind him up.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,, when peeps say “‘Roof”’ when they mean ceiling :D
