  2. A true Dad challenge! Not a clue, Like Birdy I'm not child friendly, or possibly more accurately possibly, inept with children but I hope you both have a great time

  5. Tuesday wildchild

    Tuesday wildchild I'm a circle!

Just let him take his DS or tablet and tell to sit still and you don't want to hear from him in til you get home unless he needs a roads side pee.

  6. Push the boat out. Go to lymm truck stop, you can get a haircut AND buy a cb! And if he's annoying you, just sell him to a Bulgarian trucker!

  7. Theres the Indoor ski slope at the Trafford centre. Have a snow board taster session!

Conkers in the National Forest, not far off your route, even have a camping and caravanning club site there. The Discovery centre there is pretty cool, even have an assault course, children aren't supposed to go on it but everyone was taking there kids on, even little tots

Cadbury's world is a good choice.

Thinktank is brill for kids and I can defo recommend that for a 7 year old and dad. There is a good campsite at Hinkley just off the A5 called Eddies, you may know it.

Manchester has the Lowry on Salford quays and of course there is always Drayton manor which has camping if you want to wander off the m6 toll towards Tamworth and come back via the free M42 - Or go straight across join the A5 and carry on to Eddies.

  12. My kids love it there and so do I(6 and 10). Being free is just a bonus.

  13. My kids also like the playfactore http://www.playfactore.com. its under the chill factor mentioned above. Basically a huge indoor play centre with zip lines and huge slides. Kids love it adults not so much

  15. Imperial war museum at Salford keys. The Lowery theatres there too which is a bonus and you can have a gander through the windows of BBC and catch a few celebs.

    Ah yes

I remember the science museum in Manchester , is it still open ? Coronation street studios too ?

  17. Science and industry museum, Its still open not been for a couple of years. There was rumours of it being closed not sure of the latest on that. Another free day out and a good shout for a place to visit. A 7 year old will love it there. Its in the city centre too so can have a walk round to kill time.think the coronation street has also moved to Salford keys now . its now a huge media centre

  18. The Imperial War Museum.

You could also go up to dodral bank and what about going to see Concorde at Manchester, or Concorde at Airbus in Filton(Bristol) I prefer this one as the old boys who do the tour actually built it! They blame the French for its demise
