Thanks guys! I think it was took somewhere in Scotland - I seem to remember a gnat attack - swarms of the little blighters. I can remember having to race back to the Bedford CF Campervan and mum, dad and my little brother all huddled inside until the swarm passed. The tent was full of them and they were all over the camper and windscreen......
Great pic We used to holiday in Mablethorpe as a kid & I recall on a particularly warm day a swarm of black bugs covering everything & they were followed by a swarm of ladybirds which then feasted on the black bugs...
I remember an invasion of ladybirds in Norfolk one year (early 1990s maybe) and little black things as well. I swear I got bitten by ladybirds (I was a fully fledged grown up at the time, so I don't think it's my memory getting distorted!)
