Why do sites not be a little more helpful with regard to passwords.
Some you use regularly are not an issue, but then you go to a site that you use once a flood.
You put in the password that you are sure is correct and you get the wrong password message with the " I have forgotten my password " link.
You click on that to reset and it helpfully tells you of the password requirements ... capital letter / no symbols or whatever.
Then you remember that the password was correct except for a capital at the beginning!
Why can't the requirements be offered when you are struggling to remember and make an error?
    I hate ( most ) modern technology.

  2. What’s the point in passwords they have to know them to know if they are wrong so how secure is that

I use lastpass to generate and store all my passwords makes life a bit easier
    www.lastpass.com

  4. Get your computer to suggest an obscure password and remember it. Macs can, sure Windows machines do as well.

Having strong passwords is a good thing.

  5. The problem is, the passwords suggested by your computer are so random, I doubt anyone would be able to remember them. I certainly wouldn’t. I use SecureSafe.

  6. Get it to save them on your keyring, then you don’t have to.

  7. Keyring?

  14. As recommended earlier, I also use lastpass, passwords are saved and accessible from any device I'm on.

That looks like a good idea in principle but if their site was hacked it's game over surely?

  17. Just write them all down on a piece of paper and hide it under the keyboard ;)
