parts for repairing the elusive lesser spotted working heater

  1. considering the heating in most of our buses is pretty poor, I thought I would try and make mine better. (and attempt a bit of a how to.

most of my heater cables are snapped near the control end. fining the right cables is a nightmare. I have a left hand drive bus and half the cables arent accounted for or they are listed in such a strange way that it is hard to figure out what i need.

I will get the heater setup all sorted for the winter.

Anyone have any good tips for where to get the heater cables from?

Or the connecting pipes or the that matter? The cardboard ones on mine have pretty much fallen apart and all the repairs I have done aren't that good!!

  2. The short cable is snapped on mine, apparently heritage will have it in the next couple of weeks.

  3. Mines also a LHD ;)

  4. Possibly? I was in there and asked the fella serving me for the short heater cable, and he said they dont do it any more then said hang on, we've just started doing it again and it should be in in a couple of weeks, the one iwas asking for i think controls the flap at the front?

Sorry i'm not more help but the heating is my 'to learn about' list, and i just happend to notice that this cable is snapped on mine :)

I was in a 1600 and felt the burn of the heating. My 2000 is poor even with the system set to open all year round. I was looking at fan housings and can only assume that the air outlet to the heat exchangers are not as efficient as the set up of the 1600.

  6. Wish you could restore my heat wrap thread from the old thread - all info is there!!

  7. looking at my cables today i saw a couple that were snapped close to the lever. I havent seen these cables for sale yet so was thinking I could use a barrel type connector to joining the 2 broken parts together. something like this: http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/product/Solderless_Nipple_SLNIP

however is there something where the cable goes in at either end and has 2 screws? does that make sense

  8. Use the brass section from electrical chocolate block connecters to join two pieces of cable together

Chocolate block connecter isnt there proper name just always what ive heard them called

Its the plastic blocks with brass insides
They have two srews on top to hold the electrical core in from two seperate wires

  9. Cheap aswell
