panels and doors

  1. Hi there,

    I am going to ( I think) replace the front panel on the bay due to the rust above the window ......................what do you thing? Also the doors have rust round the bottom , is it wiser to replace or weld ? Where is the bext place for new panels, for a crossover? Thakns for any advice.   2. before you start cutting it about pop the screen out and see what it is like behind it from your pics it dosnt look to bad and may not need replacing - the doors are easy to put skins on if required

  3. ok will do ! Thank you for your advice, need to buy all new rubbers as well, but have seen warnings about dodgy ones ! Tis a bit of a mind field this doing your bay up malarky, had an old mate offer to do the welding but staying clear.
     
  4. I'll second that.Front panel looks good in the pic.Pop the windscreen out for a better idea.

  6. maybe I worry a bit to much .......buetter news just found out my neighbour can weld and skim.....bonus I hope
     
  7. don't swap the whole front unless it's really rotten. keep as much of the original panel as possible. the repro front skin is nowhere near as good. if it's going round the screen, airbox, a pillars and deformation panel then maybe do the whole thing, if it's just going under the screen, repair it.

  8. Thanks all, I really did not want to replace it however reading another thread thought this may be the only answer. Hoping to have a look during the week .
