Does anyone know the paint code for the white on the top half of a 78 bay please?

I’m having the bumpers re-painted next week and want them the same colour. Or should they be a different colour?

My bus is all original and I want to try and keep it as close to original as possible.

I’ve tried looking for the M plate but can’t find it anywhere.

    Thanks
    Rachel

  2. The M-Plate should be behind the passenger seat.

Upper of a Bus is usually Pastel White L90D

Having said that I would get a match made at your local paint factors, on a 40 year old Bus it's unlikely to still be exactly L90D. If it's just the bumpers you're painting then a perfect match may not be needed, but will look better :)

I'm sure that bumpers and wheels had a specific white and grey colour, not related to the body colour.....but I could have just made that up !

Depends how pedantic/anal you are being.

  4. Bumpers L90D. The wheels I believe were originally silver.

  5. As others have said L90D but some paint mix are more cream buy I found this company Auto Paints in St Helens was the best match, but not sure if that's your colour as it looks to me more white then L90D! but if its just for the bumpers L90D could be ok.

On Volkszone site L90D is quoted for 71/72 model....

On ’77 on the M plate will be on the top of the fresh air duct behind the dash LH side. Difficult to see but stick your ‘phone camera up there and take a pic.

  8. As above, your m-plate is riveted on top of the air duct under the dash, left-hand side.

  9. Mine's a cross-over, obviously they moved it, sorry.

  10. That’s probably the only place I haven’t looked! Thank you!

  12. Thanks everyone.

I’ve found this on thesamba.com and it seems paint code for bumpers and wheels is L82 but think I’m going to go for matching after all.

Now to find some original material for the curtains...

  13. That’s for earlier ones I think, this shows L90D for the bumpers.
