Outer Roller Bearing for Sliding Door!

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Simon Keeley, Feb 18, 2013.

  1. Does anyone know if the large roller bearing that sits on the track be split into two pieces or does it sound like mine has broken and split into two?
At the weekend my sliding door came away from its track while I was removing the nylon guider. I found what appears to be half of the outer roller bearing on the floor below the door. It looks like I can simply slip this half back over the main bearing however should I be able to do this or has the outer roller bearing simply split? Can some please advise thanks.

  2. It has worn out mate, Some people turn the wheel round and use a large washer as an emergency fix but it wont last long.
