FOR SALE Outdoor Revolution Movelite awning

  1. Outdoor Revolution Movelite awning. It's about 3-4 years old. You can see the specs here of the equivalent one that Outdoor Revolution sell now, but it's the same size:

Here's a video on how to put it up, it's really quite simple:

This is it when we first got it:

Here's a floor plan of how big it is:

As you can see, it's not massive, but that was why we got it, and it's been big enough for our needs. It's tall enough to stand in (I'm 6'1") and it has a quality feel to it. It's still perfectly useable, we just have upgraded to a larger awning because we have 2 dogs.

It copes well when it's a bit breezy, as it was here:

It's very stable, being one of those awnings that's a square shape with poles that cross in the middle. It is brilliant in the rain, we have never had any leaks, so ideal for an English summer. We have always made sure that it was dried out properly when we got it home, and cleaned and looked after it.

The only bit that's showing signs of wear is where the pole sleeves are, but then when you've been feeding the poles in and out of those sleeves a few times, this is to be expected. It has no bearing on either the operation of the pole sleeves, or the waterproofness of the awning as a whole, but this is not a brand new awning.

There are the inevitable rips in the awning skirt that attaches to the van - caused, as always, by catching the sliding door on it, but I have repaired these with proper tent repair patches, and so they are fine.

It comes with 3 figure-8 strips for attaching to the van, but the awning skirt also has a sleeve in it for using pole and clamp fixings (but these are not included). It also has the peg-down groundsheet with it, and the internal bedroom attachment if you want to sleep in it.

When new, these retailed at £189, you'll see the current version is being sold by Outdoor Revolution for £199. This can be yours for just £80 - although you'll have to collect, or get the TLB courier service to take it, because it's probably going to cost a fortune to post. I live in Birmingham.

  2. Hi how small does it pack down? Looking for something compact to replace the westy punch and judy we have. Cheers Dom

  3. The bag is 70x30x30cm. It's pretty compact.

  4. @Lardy - any closer to what you were after?

Any chance you could post it through Hermes?

Here are photos of the repairs. These are on the elasticated edge of the awning skirt, where it pulls tight to the van. As with most awnings, the edge of he sliding door catches on it and tears it. I have used proper tent repair patches to repair them:

In the interests of being 100% upfront (although it does make it look worse than it is) the waterproof layer is peeling off the sleeves that the poles go through. This is because it's wear from the poles being fed through the sleeves. It has no affect on the operation of the awning, and it doesn't affect the waterproofness of the awning either, its just cosmetic.

There are two over-the-van tiedowns with it too, supposed to be for securing the awning if you happen to be camping in a hurricane (I've never used them).

A bag of pegs (I have now straightened out the few bent ones):

In the pole bag there are:

The two fibreglass poles that make up the main structure
Two 4-part metal poles for holding the main door open as a canopy

The bedroom compartment (virgin-white and completely unused):

  14. The missus wants something bigger sorry baybirmingham. Looks like lardys got a bargain though.

  15. I would be very interested in this if you could possibly wait till the end of the month, and possibly arrange courier, obviously at my cost, or I might be able to arrange my own. Any idea what he total weight would be?

If you manage to sell before the end of the month that's fine.

    Thanks

  16. OK, thanks Dan. Still for sale at the moment. I'm at work at the moment so can't weight it, but it isn't any more than 15kg. According the Outdoor Revolution's website it's 12.5kg.

  17. Thanks Bay, Where abouts are you? or the awning even? I will get a quote from ups probably see how much its going to cost, and I will pm you back as soon as I know.

    Thanks again

  18. I'm in North Birmingham, about a mile away from Spaghetti Junction (M6 Junction 6). Where are you? There are sometimes some members of this forum who travel across country so the TLB Courier Service might be able to help.

  19. Ah right, I don't actually drive yet, or I would of came to pick it up. I will put a post up on the TLB courier thread and see what happens, other wise I should be able to arrange a courier, that's if you havnt sold it by pay day. :)
