New carpets being fitted in the kids bedrooms today, so this morning was a quick Google round on all the loose floor boards. Checked all over and whacked a few carefully placed screws in.

Then this happened

Ironically the gas board are outside digging the street up for the 7th time in the same place to fix a gas leak

 

give it a good clean put a small dent in it where the hole is and pool some solder in there. Usually works.

 

looking at the angle you might have to wipe the solder into place. worth a try if you've got the gear!

 

Just put the screw back in man !

 

It's OK I know man who can.

 

Yes get the carpet fitter to fix it !

 

Was leaking even with the screw in

 

Plumber sorted it in 10 mins, £25

 

That's one expensive screw
