On the naughty list ...

Is there a web site where one can check whether a car is on a 'stolen list', if such a list exists? We are hoping to buy our first T2 and want to make sure we are not buying stolen goods!

 

An online HPI check should cover the vehicle history.

Presumably these sites are all ones which charge, or is there a free - good Samaritan site?

 

There are free sites but limited in the information they supply. If you want the correct information use the official HPI site.

Theres an app I use on my phone called 'Vehicle Smart' that I'm always using to look at reg plates I see on TV etc. The app is free, you can keep 5 plates in your 'garage' (it will let you know when your tax and mot is due). If you want to do HPI checks or Stolen registry check you can do it from the app. The free app wont do stolen checks but the premium version (4.99) will plus a load of other things.

I have that too, and I check reg’s that I see on tv

 

A full HPI check is £20, a pretty insignificant amount in relation to the cost of a camper.......

 

Pay the money to a reputable company, I use the RAC or AA etc

 

So this.. is an actual hobby...

I use that app too, great for a quick noswy at MOT history on random cars and vans you see for sale or on a TV show. Also can see when last v5 was issued which is handy too

I've used it but it wasn't actually that great imo.
