On The Cusp

  1. At this point in time your van is a financial liability as you are spending 2k per annum on storage costs but not using it.

You have had the good times with it. Time to sell then maybe. Prices have dropped a bit recently, but that shouldn't bother you as the quicker you sell, you would be saving storage costs etc.

If you are unsure about letting it go, then the sensible solution is to take it out of storage straightaway and either have it on your drive or park it on the street, where you would be more inclined to use it as you can see it out there.

  2. You might want a bit more in case it drips oil on the floor?

  3. If you send @mgbman your reg number he will do an MOT check and let you know if your selling price is OK.

I saw a T4 ‘equivalent’ of mine for sale a few months back for not much money and thought that it made a lot more sense. Mind you, I had the same thoughts when I bought my bay 15 years ago and sense went out the window then too...
Luckily I don’t have to pay storage so my costs are not added to by that.
If you don’t use it and don’t get enough enjoyment from tinkering etc. then there seems to be a good case for moving on.
No-one can make that decision but you, and if you decide to sell then you’d better be prepared to regret it or stand by the decision.
    Or buy another one later

  8. I think inside storage is very sensible over the winter.

Park it outside, sonewhere you can get at it and get a cover for it and use it.

You can afford £2k a year for storage so that means you actually can and do afford to blow some money on your bus... even if the insurance goes up it will not be £2k.

That 56/57 23 window in that vid would cost a pretty penny I wouldn't park that outside!!!

  13. I've got a coverzone cover in my loft
    Somewhere
Tried that didn't fit very well and when the wind blew up under it took dust up
With it and prepped my L90E nicely on some of the edges
And I had to remove the aerial every time
    Wouldn't do that again

£160 a month for storage. Who is watching it the queens guards . I couldn't justify that . You could rent a van when you want to use one for far less and no issues insurance and maintenance costs

Sad that you’ve made the decision to sell after all those years, but you have to do what’s best for you. Enjoy your next adventures @monkeyvanwestybike
