Ahh I see so earthed through the block then body, battery light is working. So should it have continuity and 2 volts reading when I test it?
One side of the alt light is connected to the output from the alternator. The other side is connected to the batt +ve via the ignition switch. Don’t short the alt light output to ground while the engine is running.
