Oil pressure

  1. Have decided that I need more to worry about and I am fitting pressure and temperature gauges. However the hole in the tin is too small to take the larger sender unit, so would this work with a flexible brake line? The thread is the same: 34A7DB13-7C39-48A8-A8DD-AE63B873B202.jpeg
I was going to also fit a tee piece so I can keep the existing sender. Also, I have a brass sender for the temp, but not sure the best place to install it?

Yep, got mine on a brake flexi. You know you can get dual senders that also do the oil light?

  3. Thanks Zed, the sender came with the gauge and only has a single sender, but would a tee piece like this mean I could use the existing sender?:

Yes, those work OK. Lets you use the correct stock pressure switch and the correct sender for your gauge.

Do not forget to ground the body of the adaptor or any individual pressure sender or pressure switch hanging off the end of a piece of brake line - they expect their threaded body to be going into a grounded engine block to provide the current return for the sensor..

So you will need to find a neat way of getting a wire from the adaptor to chassis, or clamping the adaptor in a bolted down metal bracket.

...or get a steel braid wrapped brake pipe - saves the farting about earthing the sender..
