Oil pressure switch / indicator

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by boggie, Jan 11, 2014.

  1. Evening all,

Fired up the bay this afternoon to charge the battery and get the juices flowing. I noticed that the oil light did not come on with the ignition before I started the engine. Obviously I'm gonna check the bulb first but looking through the Hayned book of lies I cannot find where the pressure switch is located. I could go out and have a poke around with a torch but if any of you can give me a steer i would me most grateful.

    Cheers,
    B

Depends on what type engine you have but does sound is if the wire may have disconnected.

  3. It's a 1700 crossover 72. I was wondering about the wire too which was why I asked where to look for the switch...

    Thanks, B

T4 - As you look in the engine bay it's hiding behind the distributor down a hole in the tin.

  5. Great, thanks Zed
