I didn't realise this either, our oil light was not working for the first year or so of us owning the bus! Now fixed and working as described!
You’ve got one on your modern motor as well Top tip (for @PanZer as well)...get hold of a copy of the VW Owner’s Manual for your bus. Places like thesamba have pdfs. Then all will be revealed.
Been a while since I perused it - needs pop-up, scratch & sniff, plus associated audio cassette imho. Good point though. I should have another read as a lot will make a lot more sense now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I just had a flick through - you're right, makes a lot more sense to me now than it did in the first month of owning the van.
We live and learn Nothing special about a Bay. Just bog-standard 1970s/1980s stuff. And no electronics. Yaaaay!
How much does yours bob up and down, if you don’t mind me asking? EDIT: Don’t try to measure it with the engine running.
If the engine was running then it is stopped cold it might be a minute or two. But when it is warm, it will be a few seconds before the pressure drops to 4PSI and the light comes on with the engine stopped.
