oil circulation

  1. I'm looking for a leak on my T4 engine. Can anybody tell me how oil gets to the heads. I'm presuming it's not up the push rods, though it seems to flow back to the sump that way.

    thanks

  2. It goes up the pushrods, onto the rockers, then drips back down the tubes.

This is what's puzzled me. It seems to show three galleries leading from the crank. The centre one seems to feed the valve gear.

  4. Got it! Those eight things aren't in the head. They're cam followers which the push rods sit in and the three bearings shown alongside must be for the camshaft.

    As you were.

  5. They are the cam followers. There's an oil feed into the "buckets".
