Have you noticed how many times the word obviously is said at the minute. It does my head in. People either say obviously when something is not obvious at all and they are trying to make out they are clever, or they start a sentance with the word obviously and then say something that doesn't need to be said because it was so obvious. I obviously need some time off. looking forward to this bank holiday!!
Hang around with some teenagers for a while and you'll also get to hate the word "like". Like obviously duh!
So-ism irritates me - beginning every sentence with "so". So, it's something I really hate. Obviously.
What annoys me most though is 'like' thrown in every other word ..."it really like annoys me". No ... "it annoys me". Grrgghh. Oh don't get me started ...!!
The thing I hate just as much as "like" and "obviously" is text speak - I absolutely loathe it! I even put abbreviations in my texting!
I find myself saying like quite a bit, not through choice though...obviously... Txt speak tho I h8 n try my t do it by sumtyms i cnt control it...
Calm down m8... I confess all my texts are grammatically correct and perfectly punctuated. I'm sad, really.
Not sad at all (and I'm the same). Got a friend who's a teacher and she sends the most unintelligible texts imaginable (she even abbreviates her daughter's name from Summer to suma...). I need to stop reading this thread so I don't get too ranty!
"Can I get a ...." in bar/restaurant annoys me. No you can't thats why they have waiters to get it for you.
I agree with woody. Kids " what did you leeearn? " "YEAH RIGHT " and the worse one "calm down dad! " grrr!
The only thing that slightly annoys me is people who tell you stuff v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y, with huge pauses that are always in the middle of a sentence and never at the end. Your only option to make it into a conversation rather than just listening is to butt into a gap in the middle of a senrtence, which would be rude.
