  1. morning
i am changing my flywheel oil seal (t1)
the o ring behind the shims for end float adjustment is it changeable without splitting the case ?
    if so how ?
i haven’t got my haynes book of lies with me and its not really gettable so i can’t look
    thanks steve :)

  2. Yep. It lives in the flywheel. No splitting necessary.

  3. So does it sort of press it self in as the flywheel tightens up

It's inside the flywheel. The old will have squashed flat and be hard to see. dig it out. :)

  5. I thought it was on the crankshaft behind the shims for the end float

Afraid you thought wrong old chap, it's inside the flywheel, to seal it onto the crank.

  7. That'll do for me zed as is usually the case I was looking at the wrong hole :)
Done the oil seal a few times on this engine but never the o ring I ll have another look tonight thanks :)

Could be the answer then, 'tis recommended to change both at the same time. :)

  9. It'll get changed tonight

  10. It's an o-ring. No squishing.
