Just had an email from paypal saying I've bought AUS$509 of gold jewellery......which I haven't. Looks like my account has been hacked. I've reported it to Paypal as a fraudulent transaction, changed my passwords and memorable questions etc. Now just got to wait and see what paypal say. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
You didn't press on the link to Paypal on the email did you? It's a scam that means you go to some dodgy paypal look alike site and enter all your passwords and then they hack your real account!!!
No I deliberately went separately to the paypal webpage and checked in my account history to confirm the payment had been made. Then reported the transaction as being dodgy and changed my password etc. Got a confirmation email from paypal to confirm they ate investigating.
I think you are going about this the wrong way - start at the end. My first suspect would need to be an Australian Jimmy Saville/Mr T who is internet savvy. I have already narrowed things down for you....let fly the hounds of justice......
i had my paypal account hacked through my hotmail account 3 weeks ago . Paypal were great and refunded the whole amount (over £700) took a week tho and had to chase them , they advised me to change to Gmail and change passwords and notify my bank . Phone paypal it works quicker
