He deserves it. It's a great song and makes a lot of people happy (excluding grumpy tlb members, of course).
As the Christmas hype seems to come earlier every year, maybe it's time to change the rules. I suggest we start the day after the August bank holiday.
Hard work innit… every bloody year someone seems to want to be the first to get nodded. Bloody attention seekers with no plan nor stamina just breezing through life with a Laissez faire attitude who get noddied almost passively but possibly slightly intentionally so they can have an easy December. Well let me tell you I’m having none of that namby pamby nonsense on my watch. Anyone noddied before mid December is clearly not even making the attempt and we should fart in their general direction. As for the rules…. hostilities begin Dec 1st at 00:00 hours and cease midnight (24:00) Christmas Eve/ day. Only the original Slade song applies… (non of this oasis malarkey). If you hear the opening bars and redeploy out of earshot before the vocals then that’s a near miss but not a direct hit and you live to fight another day. Anyone wearing ear defenders or noise cancelling headphones would be oblivious and never know they had been in a the combat zone and should be praised in my view for good planning and appropriate use of PPE! fingers in ears does show a good level of alertness but is no substitute for proper PPE and planning and should be discouraged as a practice due to poor hygiene. This is not acceptable however Anyone covering both ears with the flat of the palm and la la la ing loudly so as not to hear the vocals who genuinely try to redeploy but where distance was an issue and genuinely didn’t hear the vocals must declare and appeals will be heard and each case taken on its merits! You are likely to be ridiculed by those around you and on here so good luck with that one! Anyone involved in active avoidance of other Christmassy songs such as that wham thing are ineligible and need to have a word with themselves! so come one binary and non binary comrades. Take up the challenge and may the best ….binary… non-binary person win… or draw, or whatever it is that happens when you don’t get noddied!
what!!! Pull yourself together! 26th December 2020 is before 1st dec 2021 but after Christmas Day. Think it through man!!
