No door locks on either of my sliders

i have to lock / unlock both my sliders by reaching in behind the front seats and sliding the lock up or down.

Whilst not too bad it's a bit of a bind , so I'm looking at doing something different .

Firstly why don't I have external locks - mine is a panel van did they just come like this ?

Secondly is it a simple job to add locks externally or a right game - if so, I'll live with it as it is..

 

Maybe your locks are in the handles which somebody swapped out?

So could be as simple as changing the handles for early handles.

Is there anything interesting on your M Plate ? Maybe ordered like that possibly...

From the shape of the handle recess, that should have a seperate lock AFAIK, so I think the hole for the lock barrel has been plated over. Easy way to find out if it's that is take the lock off and look inside the door.
