'Tis true about the problem that some youngsters spoil it for the rest, i've worked at my place now 13 years, around 7 years ago we decided to give young people a chance - it's only warehousing but the hours are good 9-5.30 and no weekends and it's fairly decent money for the job, we had absenteeism through the roof, loads of mistakes in counting and a lack of team playing, so because of this we paid more and employed older men (youngest 34 oldest 50) and we have had the same staff now since 2006 - not 1 has left, we average 2 days sick a year each (and a lot of them are "planned" to get a few extra holidays).

Conversely, I employed 2 teenagers who were bright but fooked up at school, trained them up to be CAD operators and they were both brilliant. Neither had a single day off sick and neither ever turned up late. But I did know them both beforehand and paid them silly money - one even asked for a pay cut!

So maybe if you're young and sensible and looking for a break, your friends and relatives are the way forward.

  4. Do you have a recognised trade at 33? If not I would be putting the effort into college to get qualified before trying to change career.

  5. Trying to get a career and not just bounce from deadend job to deadend job. That's the problem. No college without funds, when I do have funds I'm working all hours under the sun. Lol

  12. They're all bent, dishonest and crooks, they walk over anyone who gets in their way, no one gets rich from working for a living and being honest
