6 ribber into a bus made before they existed. That part of the chassis got moved forward and IIRC from reading so did the torsion tube*. *That sounds unlikely but if you put a 6 ribber in an early (73/74) late bay, get a tiny gap for the engine foam seal, the bottom nut holding the prong casting onto the gearbox hits the clamp bar unless you prise it back a few mm. If you looked your later late there'd be gaps where needed.
I have just changed the empi coupler for a gen vw one - i had also relieved the cross member i also moved the front rod back and nipped it off at present in the cab i get a positive lock into all forward gears
