Not the usual gotta lose some weight, basically Lent has started early raddy da stuff, but more of the devolop further as the mad aunt/ comfirmed bachelor or Last of the Summer Wine capers. Think I might take the extended family to the Total Wipe Out coarse or dangle them off/down a big cliff/hole. Remember fellow TLB citizens, growing old is mandatory, growing up can sling its hook.
My New Years resolutions will be 1/ I will NOT vote for any Conservative. 2/ I will NOT have sex with Kylie Minogue. 3/ I will NOT have sex with Madonna. Pretty certain I can keep all of those.
I will never vote labour I will do a lot more fishing I will try not to wind people up on TLB.... I said try
To make sure I take my holiday from work - lost too much this year. Need to use the van more and have more down time.
Last year, I gave up alcohol and red meat. Still ain’t had either and feel tons better for it. This year, it will be carbonated drinks, and getting back out on the push bike and try a few more sportives .
To start doing all the things that I normally say ..one day I'll....... Life is too short....just lost a very close friend to cancer within weeks of diagnosis ... and like many on here, though we don't like to admit it, we haven't got that many " good " years left! Don't mean it in a negative way, but as a rally call to do stuff....so @Terrordales if you are abstaining from Kylie, mind if I have a shot !!
Try and do everything in moderation but feel that could get boring. Keep cool calm and collected. Kill them with kindness. Do more trips with the van. Eat less processed foods. Don't put things off, make a start and see it through. Have fun
We are the People Our Parents Warned Us About ..................... Jimmy Buffett " I was supposed to have been a Jesuit priest or a Naval Academy grad That was the way that my parents perceived me Those were the plans that they had Though I couldn't fit the part too dumb or too smart Ain't it funny how we all turned out I guess we are the people our parents warned us about"
It must be ‘reverse psychology’. If only my parents told me to hang around with young, drunk, drugged people, in squalid flats, getting into minor trouble and creating a nuisance, then the first few years after leaving school might have been a lot different for me!. Still, it makes my kids behave, when I tell them about the things I’ve seen and done as a misguided teen. Never been in trouble with the law though... (Never got caught...).
Many years ago I made a resolution to not make resolutions. So far I have stuck to it, even though it's self-contradictory
