New wiring loom info

  1. Hi,

im in the process of ripping out my old loom and replacing it for a new one as its hard years of cuts and shuts into it and to be honest i wouldnt trust it!

so my question is are the new looms labelled with what goes where? do i get instructions? or is it worth while labelling all the old loom up so i can match the new to the old?

im not sure if the new wires will match the old ones i.e. the colour of each wire? will they match the proper wiring diagrams?

    Regards

    Luke

  2. Have a look on www.vintagebus.com for the wiring diagram for your year.

  3. I put a new loom in mine. Lovely quality and great connectors etc. The only trouble was, when it went live was that the horn was on all the time when the left indicator went on (or something like that) After hours studying wiring diagrams etc, I found that the loom makers had doubled up the wrong wires behind the hazard light switch. No other probs after that tho. What did save my life, were the loads of digital photos that I took of the connectors and wires behind each and every switch or electrical motor; especially the steering column switch gear before it all came out. I also found labelling wires and keeping the old loom ready for reference useful too. The steering column was the most tricky, as I was required to remove the original (curved) black connectors to use on the new loom and the wiring connectors inside these are especially thin and tricky to install. Take great care if you find yourself having to do these!
