Good afternoon everybody, My names Owen Fawcett and i gone and brought my dream van that i have wanted since i could walk...me and my dad put the money up and brought a lovely 1975 baywindow type 4 1700 engine with twin webbers, It came with all the interior bed, draws, sink, cooker the lot....being a sceptical mechanic and also knowing a little bit about these vans i have stripped it bare to check every inch, and found the van to be soild with the odd water leak and about a 10p size spot of rust! Now i have the expensive job of rebuilding her to the way i have always pictured my van to be.... so its going to be expensive.... I was recommened to join this fourm by GINGERS the Vw workshop in Waterloovile which i will be taking my van to once i have rebuilt the engine and slotted it back in! Like i say i have a fairly good idea of what i want for the van but right now its in my head so need to get things down learn alot about the vans from experts like yourselves and get my ar*e into gear....bearing in mind that when i brought the van i had just met my new partner and i think that what kind of swung it for her a little bit so best get it back on the road if i want her to stick around...lol Thanks for reading i will chuck i picture or two of my van up now, i look forward to reading your posts and learning all i can and who knows maybe even giving soem advice too Cheers dudes Owen
