hi after years of saving i finally bought my first bay a 1972 crossover devon chuffed to bit 2weeks after owning it and no major problems the engine caught fire doh http://s1083.photobucket.com/albums/j388/lobielove/
hoping insurance pay out had a quote for £3.950 to rebuild engine replace window( fire brigade broke ) respray rewire etc not sure what they will value it against the bus as i payed £6k for van although it was up for £7
nope as id only had the van 2weeks we hadn t agreed a value , i have the bill of sale and ive looked around and i cant find a similar van for the same money thier all between 8k and 10k
Good luck then! From the few pics I've seen £4k seems ott but I guess it depends how much engine work is needed! As an aside, looks like a great van for the money!
Its really sad to see your bus like that.Good luck with the insurance. Hopefully they will value the bus realistically for the current market. I think you are right in your valuation, you would struggle to replace that for less than £9k.
welcome aboard mate...sorry to hear about the fire & good luck in getting it repaied, keep us posted on progress
hello again ive been thinking insurance know the van was bought for 6k and the repairs are £3,800 so if they right it off i should be entitled to atleast 6k after all i hade only had the van 2weeks it would not have lot that much money in 2weeks so as i see it they could offer me .. lets say 5k which is more than the repairs so in thier interrest they d be better paying for repairs does anyone have any ideas on this lobie
depends on how they value it bearing in mind they will try all they can to do what's best for them, i suggest if they pay you out and you get anything near what you paid you should then try to buy it back off them and get the van repaired yourself.
So sorry to see your after pictures - it was lovely looking! Be keeping fingers crossed for you that you can sort out everything with the insurance company - total nightmare! I'll make sure you know about the next Firetec purchase
cheers jen appretiate that ... yes the was in beautiful condition and only £6k 12month mot and fully fitted to camp not many of those come along lobie
