New rear brake cylinders... Do I need to use ate grease

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by D5andy, Dec 4, 2013.

  1. Hi - bought some new rear brake cylinders as mine are crud...

The instructions are obviously translated from either German to Brazil to English as they make little sense...

Do I need to strip clean and reassemble them with ATE grease or are they good to go straight on ....?

    Cheers :hattip:

  2. Put mine straight on 10 years ago, no issues
Others will probably beg to differ and quote some obscure website .....

  3. I thought as much - I will check the books to see if they say owt but I have a feeling that it's just a bad translation :)

  4. Worth popping a piston out to check they've been machined properly. A while ago, there were some dodgy ones out there. Then, just slap 'em on...
