Tank breathers should come along from either side, join with a T then plumb into the air filter, as yours is hard to see exactly on the pic I would say it needs to be fitted into one of your pancake filters. You can drill the top and use a barbed brass type fitting to connect the pipe to.
There should be a short metal riser pipe from the heat exchanger up to the tinwear on the right similar to the left hand side, check that's there first then I think the usual suspects do the concertina tubes to connect to the fan, check JK or Heritage web sites.

  13. Thanks all. I've just had some fuel line delivered so will get onto it this weekend.
Still not sure where 9, 27 and 28 connect to.

  14. And what was the logic of having 3 connectors on the left but only one on the right?

  18. Hi from another new member of the Cheshire contingent. I'm round the back of Chester station.

If you find yourself stuck and need a hand let me know - I have most of the tools you might need (including carb sync equipment for your twins) and a fair bit of experience on my T25 and old beetles.

In terms of the breather, I had a similar set up on the T25 (larger diameter for the oil breather), as above just drilled a hole and fitted a brass outlet (from the plumbing aisle in B&Q as they had what was required...)

  20. Hi I'm another Cheshire (altrincham) local. I'd recommend Jim Painter at JRP Welding. He's just moved from Nantwich into a new unit in Tarporly so must be round the corner from you! He does all types of VW's. Does all mechanical work as well as welding and replaced the fuel tank in mine, and carbs, cylinder head etc.......... He's a top bloke and charges fair prices for good work. JRP wedding unit 5 bank farm, cal elegy hall lane, Tarporly CW69LB
