Hey clever people, As ever, just need some wise words. Fuel pump is goosed (99% sure), but its an old unit so bought a new one, This one https://www.heritagepartscentre.com...MI-7aAk4XG-AIVYmHmCh3ahwiCEAQYBCABEgKHkfD_BwE So, my old pump was piped in with 6mm fuel line This new unit needs 10mm fuel line. Just get some 10mm fuel line I hear you say..........but before I do, this means I need to renew the line between tank and the pump/integrated filter. At the tank end, will that accept the larger fuel line, as I currently have 6mm on there and it looks snug, I imagining even the most robust tightening of a fuel line clip won't squeeze a 10mm pipe to a nice safe fit. Does that make sense? I'm thinking there may be a reducer needed or something but could find any info on this. If I rang Heritage now, I think they'd answer by Tuesday.
Here you go, these worked fine on our old 73 bus using that fuel pump https://www.amazon.co.uk/sourcing-m...t=&hvlocphy=1007138&hvtargid=pla-851668054522
Pretty sure that is a Carter Rotary pump, the same as I have, which uses an 8mm not 10mm pipe. Just put a plastic filter between the tank and pump as these have a step down connector both sides. You can fit a 6mm one side and an 8mm the other. Or put a cut off solenoid there and kill two birds with one stone, which is a good idea if you're running twin Webers as it stops fuel getting past worn float valves when stationary and your crankcase won't end up full of petrol.
